This, I know is true.

This sport is not easy!  It is built on attention to detail and a step-wise progression of skills and concepts that take years to understand, let alone master.  And it attracts a certain type of person – driven, perfectionistic, highly competitive.  These qualities are the foundation of a great rider, but they can also get in the way if they are not channeled effectively.  All it takes is one or two negative experiences to start a pattern of anxiety, self-doubt, and frustration.

That’s where I come in.

You know that personality type I just described?  That is me too!  And for a long time in my early years as a top level event rider and later a dressage rider (yes, I dared to go to the DARK side!) these parts of me brought me great success and enjoyment in my riding.  I set out to make a life dedicated to riding and training and sacrificed a lot to get there.  But somewhere along the way, those same qualities began to work against me and my mindset and emotional well-being reflected this….along with my scores! And it led to me quitting the sport all together for a number of years.

During this time of deep personal exploration and learning, I set out to pinpoint what had changed.  After all, I was still intrinsically the same driven and dedicated person but my mind seemed to interpret situations differently.  I was experiencing anxiety, I was anticipating things going wrong before they even started, and I felt emotionally on edge with my trainer, my family, and most importantly myself.

Fast forward almost 10 years and these days I’m feeling confident, I’m setting goals and meeting them, and once again thoroughly enjoying the sport that I have dedicated so much of my life to.  Along the way I also got my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, became trained in techniques that specifically target performance anxiety and limiting beliefs, and integrated it all into a one of a kind solution custom built for riders like you. Oh, and by the way, I managed to get married, have a child, and start my own business too!   I tell you this, because I want you to know that I GET IT. I'm with you in the emotional rollercoaster this sport puts you on, and I'll be right along side you as you embrace and conquer the challenge.

Does this really work?

Absolutely!  Not only did it work for me, but for my clients as well.  Feel free to read up on their transformations and breakthroughts.
